Foxconn Is Coming

Michigan getting a Foxconn bite of the apple.
Foxconn, one of Apple’s primary iPhone makers, will open a multibillion-dollar research and development plant in Michigan, according to the South China Morning Post.
The Michigan facility will be focused on autonomous vehicles, according to the Foxconn founder Terry Gou.

Gou says besides self-driving technology, he’s interested in artificial intelligence and deep learning technology.

No details into the investment amount were given.
Gou met with Gov. Snyder over the weekend during a Snyder trip to China.

The news comes nearly two weeks after Foxconn announced a $10 billion Wisconsin plant.
Foxconn has visited Michigan several times, and inspected locations in Romulus and South Lyon.

Two weeks ago, Snyder signed a package of bills that would provide significant tax incentives to companies like Foxconn.
