Nun Hit And Run In Court

A preliminary exam is scheduled for today for a man accused in the hit and run death of a Roman catholic Nun in the mid-Michigan community of Alma.
Authorities say citizen help and good police work led to the arrest of 33 year old Justin Fell.

64 year Sister Joseph Marie Ruessmann was hit and killed as she road her bike on Michigan Avenue at about 7:15 in the morning of August 17th.

Police received a tip about a man who had front end damage to his car.

Police talked to the man who told them he had removed a bug shield from the front of his car because it was damaged when he hit a deer that same day.

Police found the bug shield in his garage and it matched a piece of bug shield found at the scene where the nun was killed.

He was then charged with the hit and run, leaving the scene of a fatal accident, tampering with evidence and filing a false police report …. charges that could send him to prison for up to ten years.
