Bill Schuette will officially kickoff his campaign for governor today at an event in Midland.
Schuette is a two-term Attorney General who has held office in the state legislature, the courts, and the U-S Congress.
Other declared Republican candidates Dr. Jim Hines, a Saginaw physician; Sen. Patrick Colbeck ; insurance agent Joseph DeRose of Williamston; private investigator Mark McFarrlin of Pinconning; and Evan Space, a Lansing student.
Lt. Gov. Brian Calley is also expected to join the Republican race.
