Flint Water Defendants In Court Today

Preliminary exams are scheduled for today for 5 people charged with misconduct in their handling of the Flint water crises.
A former top state health official was sentenced to a years probation earlier this year and seven other state employees charged in the case are due in court today and in November.

Corrine Miller, the retired head of the Health and Human Services Epidemiology Department pled no contest in September to a charge of willful neglect of duty.

Due in court today are Michael Prysby, a former Flint water engineer, and Stephen Busch, a former Department of Environmental Quality district supervisor. Patrick Cook, who was responsible for lead and copper monitoring in the department, Liane Shekter-Smith, former chief of the office of drinking water and municipal assistance, and former water quality analyst Adam Rosenthal have their cases coming up.

Two health and human service workers, Nancy Peeler and Robert Scott, are not due in court until November 13th.

Another co-defendant,  former municipal water department treatment operator Michael Glasgow pled guilty in May to a one year misdemeanor.
