Businessman Dan Gilbert says the 4 major building projects that his company has underway in Detroit will be tied to 24-thousand jobs. Gilbert says it’ll take 15-thousand workers to build a new skyscraper on the Hudson’s site… new buildings on the Monroe Block in Greektown… renovate One Campus Martius… and renovate the Book Cadillac building, known as the Book Tower. He says at least 9-thousand workers will be employed at businesses at these locations. Gilbert says he wants to turn the Book into a showplace.
Gilbert says the projects are submitting plans under the city’s Brownfield Development program. That program gives incentives to businesses that build or expand at selected sites.
