Bob Bashara Conviction Upheld

The Michigan Appeals Court has upheld the conviction of Bob Bashara in the murder of his wife, Jane.
The court ruled that Bashara “failed to establish any of his claims.”
In his appeal, Bashara charged that his right to a fair trial was violated because the trial was held in Wayne County. He thought he could not get a fair trial because of publicity about the case.
Bashara was convicted on multiple charges, including murder, in his wife’s death in 2012. He was also convicted for trying to hire a hitman to kill Joe Gentz. Gentz confessed to strangling Jane Bashara to death on the orders of Bob Bashara. Authorities said Bob Bashara wanted his wife out of the way so he could pursue his sado-masochist double lifestyle. Bashara is serving a life prison sentence.
