Ex-Cop In Trouble Over Deck

A former top official in the Detroit Police Department is due in court today for a preliminary exam on charges of misconduct.

The case involves former Captain Harold Rochon.

Prosecutors say he was charged with misconduct for ordering two police officers to build a deck at his home while they were on duty.

Rochon was interviewed about the allegations last year and resigned.

He had been with the department for 30 years.

The alleged misconduct occurred two years ago.

Rochon was also involved in another controversial incident.

He reportedly ordered police detective Ira Todd several years ago to remove any references about former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick from a report he had prepared about Kilpatrick’s
possible connection to an alleged drug dealer.

Todd filed a lawsuit in that case.
