New Version Of Dueling Car Insurance Plans

Another version of auto insurance reform is unveiled to try to lower the cost of auto coverage in Michigan. Drivers could choose the level of medical coverage under this plan:     $250,000, $500,000, or the current unlimited level. Speaker of the House Tom Leonard says the formula has built-in savings, in that hospitals would have to charge lower fees for medical services in line with what they charge to large insurance carriers, which get a discount on charges.

Detroit Mayor Duggan is among the backers.
What are the chances? Fasten your seat belts.
The state hospital association calls it ‘a non-starter,’ the leader of the state senate supports a different set of changes, and a group of house members is sponsoring another reform of no-fault. They all appear headed on a collision course.
