Kellogg’s Hopes New Boss Will Be Grrreat

Kellogg’s of Battle Creek is turning to an outsider in hopes of putting more snap, cackle and pop into its operations. John Bryant, the man who led the company for the past seven years, has stepped down.

Taking over today as the new CEO is 52 year old Steve Cahillane..

He had been the top man at Nature’s Bounty, a vitamin and natural supplement maker.

Kellogg’s and other cereal makers have reported declining profits over the past four years.

Analysts say traditional cereals have a declining reputation as a healthy food, especially among younger consumers.

Cahillane’s recent experience in the vitamin and natural supplement market is expected to help guide his plans for Kellogg’s in the future.
