Career Criminal Sentence On Another Violent Felony

A 23 year old Flint man is to be sentenced today on his conviction in a home invasion case that left two men dead and a woman sexually assaulted.

Marcus Howell is going to prison, but he’s already in prison.

He was serving time for a 2014 conviction of felonious assault in Lenewee County and a 2013 conviction in Genesee County for carjacking.

But while in prison, new evidence led him to being charged in a home invasion in Flint in August of 2012.

In that case, two men were shot to death.

A woman in the home had been assaulted and had her throat slashed.

She managed to survive.

But DNA collected from the woman led to the charges against Howell.

At his trial, a witness had testified Howell had taken pictures of his victims and was showing them off to others.
