A big water main breaks due to a power outage— now, a mandatory boil water advisory has been issued for twelve communities in Oakland County.
A power outage near 14 Mile and Drake tripped the water pumps. It caused a change in the water pressure, breaking a 48-inch water main in West Bloomfield to break. Water gushed out of the main onto the street.
The water situation is getting back to normal. The boil water order is in effect for:
– Bloomfield Township
– Commerce Township
– Farmington Hills (North of 696),
– Keego Harbor
– Novi
– Novi Township
– Oakland Township (specifically the subdivisions: The Hills of Oakland and Kings Pointe)
– Orchard Lake Village
– Rochester Hills (north of Hamlin and west of Livernois)
– Walled Lake
– West Bloomfield Township
– Wixom
Many schools are closed.
