Politicians, Celebs At Detroit Woman’s Convention

Actress Rose McGowan will help open a 3-day National Women’s Convention at Detroit’s Cobo Center. McGowan was one of the first to accuse producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual assaults.
The weekend meeting has a political bent, with activists and part of the agenda which says ‘resist Trump.’

As many as 5-thousand women from around the world are expected in town for the event.

It was organized by the Women’s March, the same activist group that led massive rallies around the world back on January 21st, the day following the inauguration of President Trump.

It’s purpose, according to organizers, was to send the message that women’s rights are human rights.

Several high-profile names are scheduled to speak at the convention.

Tonight’s keynote speaker will be U-S Senator Bernie Sanders.

He is expected to outline how the women’s movement can move forward in achieving its goals.
