Court Martial proceedings are scheduled to start today for a former Marine drill instructor charged in the death of a recruit from Taylor.
Gunnery Sergeant Joseph Felix has been charged with mistreatment in the death of 20 year old Raheel Siddiqui at Parris Island, South Carolina..
He died in March of last year when he fell from a third story barracks stairwell.
The death was ruled a suicide but his family members strongly rejected that finding and said the death was the result of physical and verbal abuse because he was a Muslim.
