Ford Field To Be Used For Soccer

The proposal to do a land-swap and to build a new soccer stadium on the site of an unfinished Wayne County jail is scrapped.
The Detroit mayor, the Wayne County executive, major business forces Dan Gilbert and Tom Gores, and now the Ford family have determined that Ford Field will be the site of Major League soccer in Detroit, once a franchise is given to Detroit.

Rock Ventures says in a statement that a criminal justice complex will be built along the I-75 service drive, and the site of the unfinished jail will be the home of a mixed-use development. No other details are given.
