Among the 26 people killed in the chirch massacre in Texas was a couple from Harrison, Michigan.
A candlelight vigil will be held in Harrison tonight for Robert and Shani Corrigan.
The Corrigans were childhood sweethearts. They grew up in Harrison, graduated from Harrison High in 1985, and were a military family. Robert retired from the Air Force. They lived in Floresville, Texas, and attended First Baptist Church.
The Corrigans have two sons, who are on active duty in the Air Force.
Clare County Veterans Services Director Renee Haley organized tonight’s candlelight vigil.
“It just shows we have to hug our loved ones, because tomorrow is not promised to any of us. Our community is in shock.”
The couple’s parents still live in the area.
Funeral services will be announced later in the week.
