Feds Say Dad, Son Were A Bribe Team

A father and son who ran a thriving trashing hauling business are due in Federal Court today in connection with the ongoing probe into a wide-ranging public corruption scandal in Macomb County.
70 year old Charles P. Rizzo and his 47 year old son Charles B. Rizzo have cut a deal with the government.

They are expected to plead guilty to the charges against them during a federal court hearing in Port Huron.

They are facing bribery and fraud charges.

Prosecutors say the two stole thousands of dollars from their company while it was majority-owned by others.

The younger Rizzo and towing company magnate Gasper Fiore are also accused of paying bribes in order to secure trash hauling contracts for the Rizzo company with several communities in Macomb County.

The public corruption investigation has so far led to charges against 17 people.
