Police are searching for a gunman in Ortonville and the surrounding area after he shot his estranged wife and her boyfriend.
Brandon, Clarkston, Oxford and Goodrich schools are closed while police search for 34 year old Michael Quigley.
Lake Orion Community Schools are open but under a soft lockdown.
The Oakland County sheriff’s department says Quigley
shot his estranged wife Stephanie and the other man in the head with a 22 caliber gun. The sheriff’s department says the woman was visiting the man when Quigley showed up.
Both are in intensive care, but are in stable condition.
Deputies found Quigley’s pickup truck nearby, which was out of gas. They say a tracking dog picked up Quigley’s scent in the woods near the apartment, but lost it.
Neighbors say the woman had filed for divorce. She had a hearing scheduled today on a personal protection order that she filed against Michael Quigley.
