Pot Petitions Filed

A group seeking to legalize recreational marijuana here in Michigan says it will submit some 360-thousand petition signatures to the state today.

It needs 250-thousand valid signatures to qualify for a potential 2018 ballot proposal.

If the signatures are certified, the state legislature would have 40 session days in which to approve or reject the measure.

If the legislature takes no action. the measure would go on the November 2018 general election ballot.
