Cops Say Serial Arsonist Was Caught

A preliminary exam is scheduled for today for an alleged Detroit arsonist.

Police believe 40 year old Marzein Porter may have been responsible for more than two dozen fires set at both vacant and occupied dwellings on the city’s east side over a two month period.

He was arrested following a lengthy investigation by the Arson Task Force.

Police Chief James Craig said that tips from area residents were a big help in Porter’s arrest.
