Calley Makes Campaign Official

Lt. Gov. Brian Calley makes it official. He’s running for governor.
Calley has been running for a year or more, unannounced.
Calley says tax reform, balancing the budget, regulatory reform and job growth are accomplishments of the Rick Snyder administration, which he indicates he will continue and build on.
Calley says he has worked hard in Flint— where the Snyder administration is linked to the water emergency.

Calley says he spent so much time last year in Flint helping in the Flint water emergency that he declared Flint to be his primary place of work for the purpose of paying state taxes.

Calley is 40. He has lived most of his life in Ionia.

Calley’s main opponent for the GOP nomination is Attorney General Bill Schuette.
