Another former staffer of Cong. John Conyers says Conyers made unwanted sexual advances toward her, including touching.
Deanna Maher, Conyers’ former deputy chief of staff who ran his downriver office from 1997 to 2005, told The Detroit News that Conyers made unwanted advances toward her three times. They include touching her under her dress, and offering to take her to his hotel room for sex, according to Maher.
Maher is now 77. Conyers is 88. Many of these allegations are years old. But hi-profile attorney Lisa Bloom, who represents one of the accusers, says “once 1 woman is brave enough to come forward, others will say I’m going to stand with her.”
Conyers attorney says Conyers denies the allegations.
Some former staffers of Conyers signed a letter saying they were never harrassed by the congressman.
