15 Mile is reopening to traffic between Utica and Hayes Road. The sewer under the road has been repaired. The road reopening will be the final step in the repairs. The sewer sinkhole occurred the day after Christmas last year.

Authorities say the 30 year old sewer line had never been inspected, and crumbled over a number of years and finally collapsed. Property owners in the 11 communities that hook into the sewer interceptor are being billed higher property taxes to pay for the repairs.
