Mich. Hi Court Hears Murder Appeal

The Michigan Supreme Court will hear arguments in the case of a double-murder at a dollar store in Dearborn.
Lavere Bryant, a former employee at the store, was convicted of the murders of Joseph Orlando and Brenda Machus. But the conviction was overturned by a state appeals court because the jury was allowed to hear about Bryant’s history of sexual assault.

Wayne County prosecutor Kym Worthy appealed, claiming Bryant’s criminal record is relevant to the case.
The Michigan Supreme Court will hear arguments in the appeal today.
Lavere Bryant remains in jail.
