Ceremony For New Detroit Building

Dan Gilbert says they don’t have a name yet for the skyscraper his company is building on the site of the Hudson’s store. But Gilbert says he would like to have the name Hudson as part of the name of the 800 foot tall building, or the mixed-use building that will go along with it.
A ceremony is held at the site of the Hudson’s store to mark the beginning of the construction project.
Hudson broke ground for it’s store in 1891.
The old store was imploded more than 100 years later.

Gilbert’s Bedrock Company is spearheading the project. They say they want the building to open in the summer of 2022.
