Ex-UAW Official Lawyers-Up

Here’s the latest in the federal investigation into UAW job training centers funded by the Detroit 3 automakers. Joe Ashton, a retired union vice-president, has hired a criminal defense lawyer, as a federal grand jury investigation continues into embezzlement at those job training centers. Ashton has not been charged with any crimes. But 2 other union officers, one of them dead, were implicated in swiping large amounts of money from one of the training centers, for their own use. Also charged was a former Chrysler executive, Al Iacobelli, who was accused of being a point-person in the swindle.
