Advice For Drivers In A Crash

Michigan Department of Transportation issues a warning to drivers after three collisions involved the drivers exiting their vehicles, and were hit by other vehicles, on I-696. Two of them were killed.
MDOT says if you’re in a crash you shouldn’t leave the car or truck especially on the freeway. They say stay in the car and call 911 or wait for an officer to arrive.
What about those who want to stop and help? M-DOT spokeswoman Diane Cross says call 911 or drive off the freeway and summon help nearby, but do not stop and exit your vehicle. Cross says secondary crashes and frequently more serious than the initial collisions.
