Another Reason To Secure Guns At Home

A child is dead and Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy says it’s another senseless tragedy.
The prosecutor has long preached against leaving unsecured guns in a home.

A preliminary exam is scheduled for today for 22 year old Demetrius Peals and 20 year old Kinesha Boyd.

They are charged with involuntary manslaughter in the December 6th death of Boyd’s 3 year old son.

Peals is charged with leaving a loading gun in the home.

Boyd is charged with knowing that Peals had a gun in the home and allowing him access to the boy.

Prosecutors say the boy found the gun and fatally shot himself while playing with the weapon.

Police say Peals and Boyd then tampered with evidence in the case and lied to officers about how the child died.
