Couple Captured, Facing Murder, Torture Of Little Girl

US Marshals have captured a Sumpter Township couple wanted for the torture and death and torture of a 4-year-old girl.

Gabrielle Barrett was found near death at a Rawsonville Woods mobile home on New Years Day.

She was pronounced dead at a hospital, with evidence of multiple traumatic injuries, including burns all over her body, according to the autopsy.

The prime suspects— Gabby’s mother, 24-year-old Candice Diaz and her boyfriend, 28-year-old Brad Fields, were arrested in Lake Park, Georgia on I-75. Reportedly the pair suffer from mental illnesses.
They were no strangers to police.

In May  2016, police were called for domestic assault. Police records say when they arrived, officers found a dog that had been shot,

The mother told police that her boyfriend, Fields, had “punched her in the head” and smashed her cell phone so she couldn’t call police.

Police reported that the house smelled foul, with garbage, decaying food and dog feces in the children’s room and flies throughout the house.

Police also found crack pipes, several guns and knives.

Candice Diaz said she tried to file down one of the gun’s serial numbers, which is a felony.

Diaz was charged and was sentenced to probation.

There were no known Child Protective Services cases open against them.

Now, child protective services has filed a case on the dead girl’s one-year-old half-sister.
