Global Auto Sales Forecast

After several years of fast-rising auto sales, the global new vehicle market is cooling off.

Auto sales in the U-S are losing stream. Worldwide sales are expected to grow this year, just more slowly that the big gains of the last 2 years. IHS Automotive says global sales in 2017 were 94-pt-5 million vehicles, up more than 2-percent. IHS thinks sales this year will increase 1 pt 5 percent to 95 pt 9 million.

That means nearly 259-thousand vehicles are sold around the world every day.

China surpassed the U-S as the largest car market by volume several years ago. Other Asian countries also are racking up the hottest new vehicle growth.
