Toledo O’Pass Fenced In After Fatality

Crews will begin to put up temporary fencing at an overpass in Toledo where a Warren man was killed .

Workers closed a ramp on Interstate 75 in Toledo beginning Monday.

Authorities say 22 year-old Marquise Byrd was riding in the passenger side of a vehicle heading south on I-75 through Toledo when a
construction bag crashed through the windshield killing Byrd in last December.

Byrd was from Warren.

The 13- year-old boy who threw the sand bag that killed Byrd pleaded guilty to murder and felonious assault in Toledo’s juvenile court last Friday.

He heads to court in March and could be sent to prison until he is 21.

The boy was one of four teenagers accused of throwing rocks and sandbags.
