2 DPD Cops Charged With Ignoring Fatal Crash

Two Detroit police officers are scheduled to be arraigned today on numerous charges involving the death last fall of a 19 year old man.
Prosecutors say the officers, 26 year old Stephen Heid and 28 year old Ronald Cadez, were engaged in a high-speed chase last October.

The man they were chasing, Jerry Bradford Junior lost control,of his car, hit a tree and was killed.

Police chief James Craig said the officers violated policy by chasing a vehicle not involved in a violent felony … failed to notify dispatch that they were involved in a high-speed chase … and then left the scene after seeing Bradford’s car hit the tree without either trying to help the victim or call for medical help.
