CMU Shooter Update

The 19 year old Central Michigan University student accused of shooting and killing his parents in his dorm room has been under police custody at McLaren hospital .

Police say James Davis Junior will be transferred to the Isabella County jail as soon as he gets a medical clearance from doctors.

Police have not determined what sparked the shooting.

University officials say all campus security measures are being reviewed.

Campus Police Chief Bill Yeagley said
Davis can be seen on surveillance video in the dorm’s parking lot with the gun before he entered the residence hall where his parents were shot around 8:30 a.m. Friday. The 19-year-old was arrested early Saturday morning standing near a railroad track. Police said Davis appeared to be hypothermic and was not making sense, so he was taken to an area hospital under police guard.
