Ex City Manager Says He’s Innocent

The Troy city manager is out.

The Troy City Council acted quickly in firing City Manager Brian Kischnick.

Kischnick had been arrested Friday night on a domestic abuse charge.

The City council called a special meeting  Sunday  and the motion was approved unanimously.

Kischnick was not at the meeting, but delivered a written letter to the council in which he denied any wrongdoing.

Police say he knocked down a woman after returning from dinner.

The woman was reportedly assaulted after getting out of the vehicle.
Kischnick denies the charges.

But another controversy has surfaced.
City council says there were past problems with Kischnick, including the failure to report an accident using a city-owned car in 2016 in which the city reportedly had to pay the damages for the other driver.
Some residents were saying they thought the city covered-up the previous problems.
