Another attempt is underway to bring about a regional public transit system.
The plan was unveiled by the Wayne County Executive, to expand bus and rail service, and pay for it with a 1 point 5 mill regional property tax in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and Washtenaw counties.
A transit tax was narrowly rejected in 2016. Another public vote may take place later this year.
