Detroit grocery store owner – Haider Aoun – has pleaded guilty to stealing more than 2 – million dollars from the government program for mothers and children.
Aoun admits that he paid cash to people in exchange for more profitable swipes of their debit-style cards. He was reimbursed by the government.
He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit fraud and faces at least 4 years in prison.
According to authorities, the fraud lasted 8 years at the Lonyo Market in Detroit.
