PAL Detroit Opens New Ballfield

Baseball opening day is tomorrow— at The Corner. The Corner is the PAL baseball field on the site of the old Tiger Stadium.
It’s been many years since baseball has been played at Michigan and Trumbull. The Tigers final game was at the end of the 1999 season.

Ribbon-cutting will be tomorrow at the field that was home to the Detroit Tigers.
PAL Detroit raised money thru WJR fundraisers and other events to build their headquarters, and now the baseball facility— with the Tiger Stadium flagpole still standing in left-center field. PAL CEO Tim Richie says the opening is the culmination of years of work.

The conference room at PAL offices will be named the WJR Paul W.  Smith Board Room in in recognition of millions of dollars raised in the annual Paul W golf fundraiser and the generosity of our listeners.
