Hash Bash Gears Up In Ann Arbor

Ann Arbor is gearing up for its annual Hash Bash.

It will take place this Saturday on the diag on the U of M campus.

It will be the 47th anniversary for the event which started back on April 1st of 1972.

It came in response to a Michigan Supreme Court ruling declaring unconstitutional the law used to convict cultural activist John Sinclair for possession of 2 marijuana joints.

Organizers hope this years rally will have a special significance … that it will be the last before marijuana is legalized in the state.

Voters going to the polls in November are being asked to approve a ballot proposal to legalize recreational marijuana for people 21 and older.
