March Is Strong For Auto’s

Good sales gains are reported  for the Detroit 3 automakers in March.
Sales rose 16 percent at General Motors. Each of the GM brands posted double-digit increases.
Fiat Chrysler sales had a 14 percent increase.
Jeep had it’s best month of total sales ever, nearly 100-thousand vehicles.
Ford sales rose 3-percent, Ford’s first monthly gain this year.
GM’s chief economist says consumers are keeping the U-S economy healthy, the job market is strong, consumer confidence is high, and business owners are taking advantage of the new tax reform to upgrade their fleets of vehicles.
Sales continue to be driven by pickup trucks, crossovers, and SUV’s.
Watch out— interest rates are rising, and that will raise monthly car payments.
