He Tried To ‘Hack’ Prisoner Out Of Jail

He was a hacker who used his computer to try and get an inmate out of jail.

Instead, he’s going to jail.

Konrad Voits of Ypsilanti Township was able to take over the Washtenaw County computer system.

Prosecutors say he had gained access to jail records, search warrant affidavits and personal information of more than 16-hundred employees.

Voits admitted he altered an electronic jail record in trying to get an early release for an inmate at the county jail.

Officials spent more than 230-thousand dollars to fix the breach.

Voits pled guilty to a charge of damaging a protected computer.

He’s facing up to 7 years or more in prison.
