Sex Trafficking Charges In Port Huron

Two Port Huron men are scheduled to be arraigned today on charges of sex trafficking involving of minors. The defendants were identified as Joseph McGough and Robert Stanfield.

Both were arrested in Warren late last year.

Prosecutors say the men were using minor girls as prostitutes and transporting the girls to and from locations for sexual encounters.

The Kiwanis Club of Port Huron say the case is a good example that human trafficking is real and operating in the Blue water area.

To help inform and educate citizens of the problem, the club has scheduled two events on human ttrafficking awareness.

The first is being held from 2:30 until 5:30 this afternoon at the Saint Clair Community College Fine Arts Theatre.

The second will be from 6 to 7 pm on April 24th at the YMCA of the Blue water Area.
