Teen To Be Sentenced For Causing Good Samaritan Crash

A Detroit teenager is scheduled to be sentenced today in a car accident that claimed the life of a Detroit doctor and resulted in a high school track star losing part of a leg.
It was April 2nd of last year … a Jeep hit an open manhole on I-96 and overturned.

Two cars stopped to try and help ….in one, Henry Ford Hospital Doctor Cynthia Ray and in the other, teenager Sean English and his parents.

They were then hit by a car driven by 18 year old Keith Martin of Detroit.

Doctor Ray was killed.

English, a student at the University of Detroit Jesuit High School was injured and eventually had to have his right leg amputated below the knee.

Martin suffered critical injuries in the crash and almost died.

He pled no contest in March to a charge of operating under the influence and faces up to 15 years in prison.
