Victims Of State Computer Error Get Day In Court

Thousands of Michigan residents falsely accused of fraud in a case involving unemployment insurance claims will be getting their day in court.

They had been accused through a state computer system that was eventually found to have an error rate as high as 93 percent.

Some of those who were charged were forced into bankruptcy.

A class action suit was filed back in 2015.

But it was dismissed by the state court of appeals, which ruled it had not been filed in a timely manner.

However, the state supreme court issued an order saying that it will take up the case.
