Rochester Hills Shooting Could Be Hate Crime

Authorities are expected to file charges against a Rochester Hills man who shot at a teenager who was knocking on his door to ask for directions.
Oakland County Sheriff’ says the 14 year old missed the bus so he started walking to school. He got lost and stopped at a home near Crooks and Avon roads to ask for directions. He says a woman accused him of trying to break into the house, and a man came to the door with a shotgun, and fired a shot.
The boy was not hit.
Sheriff Bouchard says the charges are expected to be felonies.

Bouchard says they’re looking at a possible hate crime, as the homeowner is white, and the teen is black.
