Detroit police have arrested a 27 year old man for the fatal hit and run of an 8 year old boy.
The autistic had slipped out of his home without his parents knowing.
He was hit last week as he crossed Fort street near Schaefer by the driver of an older model Chevy Tahoe.
Witnesses say the driver ran a red light when he hit the boy.
The suspect was taken into custody yesterday afternoon during a traffic stop in Ecorse.
Police say a tip led to his being stopped and arrested.
