Shooting Spree Suspect In Court

A Sterling Heights man who went on a killing spree back on February first is due in court for an arraignment in one of the shootings.
45 year old Vernest Griffin is due in court today in the shooting death of 60 year old Keith Kitchen at a trucking company in Taylor.

Following that shooting, he stole a truck and drove to a business in Pontiac where he shot and killed 58 year old Eriberto Perez.

Police say Griffin then drove to another trucking business in Waterford looking for a third intended victim.

Unable to find his next victim, he left the scene, but was spotted by police and wounded in a a shootout.

He’s due in court in the Pontiac shooting next month.

Griffin had once worked at the trucking plant in Taylor, but there has been no worked on what sparked that shooting.
