A Shelby Twp. man is in critical condition after he was shot by police for firing shots, barricading himself inside a home and threatening to shoot officers. It may have been a case of suicide by cop.
Police said a woman called 911 saying her boyfriend had a gun and had fired a shot inside a condo on Providence Drive. When police arrived they heard three gunshots.
Police said the man threatened to shoot police officers and came outside and fired at them. Officers fired back at the man, hitting him several times.
The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
