Public Transit Forums This Week

The Regional Transit Authority is this week holding four more hearings this week to get citizen output on a new mass transit plan for the area.

Mass transit has been a tough sell in the past.

It was defeated at the polls in 2016.

Wayne County Executive Warren Evans recently proposed a new plan that would be funded by a 1.5 mill increase that would cost the average household about 118-dollars a year

A meeting on the plan is scheduled for tonight at Schoolcraft College in Livonia.

Two more will be held on Wednesday … one at the Ann Arbor District Library, the other at the Rochester Community House.

The last one will take place Thursday at the Mount Clemens public library.

All of the meeting are to start at 5:30 in the afternoon.
