Roch. Hills Man Faces Trial Over Shooting

A preliminary exam is scheduled for today for a Rochester Hills man accused of firing a shotgun at a teenager who had reportedly knocked on his front door to ask for directions.
53 year old Jeffrey Zeigler has been charged with assault with intent to murder.

A 14 year old boy told police he had missed his school bus and got lost when he started to walk to his school four miles away.

He said he got lost and knocked on Zeigler’s door to ask for directions.

Zeigler’s wife apparently screamed that someone was trying to break in.

Zeigler got his shotgun and fired at the youth who was running away.

No one was hit, but the charge against Zeigler could send him to prison for life.

At his arraignment, he told reporters there is a lot more to this story that will come out.
