Mich. Health Director Back In Court

It’s back to court today for the highest-ranking state employee charged with criminal behavior in connection with the Flint water crises.
49 year old Nick Lyon has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and misconduct in office for his handling of the water crises and an outbreak of Legionnaires disease.

Lyon is director of the state department of Health and Human Services.

The purpose of the exam is to determine if he will be bound over for trial.

Former Flint Emergency Manager Gerald Ambrose was the first of 15 defendants to be bound over for trial because he waived his right to a preliminary exam earlier this year.

Some legal experts say this may mean a plea deal is being worked out.

He’s due in court today for a pre-trial hearing.
