Tributes For State School Supt.

The Michigan Education Association, the teacher’s union, says Brian Whiston was,” above all else, a good person who will be missed by all who knew him. Everything he did as our state superintendent grew from his strong belief in the power of public education to change students’ lives. He was, first and foremost, an educator.”
Brian Whiston, the Michigan school superintendent, has died of cancer. He was 56. He was also the former superintendent of Dearborn public schools.
